The slip-and-fall you did not see coming came from the ice bath
Every ice display drips. Every drip reaches a floor. Every wet floor in a public room is a claim waiting for a shoe.
Ice melts into pans, pans are lifted, water runs down the table skirt onto tile. Guests walk that strip of floor with plates in both hands. Slip claims are premises claims: the venue knew or should have known the floor was wet, and either did not fix it or did not warn.
What the log needs
Timed floor checks, signage placed, mopping recorded. Most banquet teams do not have the staff to do it every fifteen minutes for five hours.
Remove the water
A cold cell does not melt. The pan stays dry, the skirt stays dry, the floor stays dry, and the check log becomes unnecessary because there is nothing to check.
